Organized by The Institute, in partnership with Waynesboro Historical Society Part of a series of programs, Village Stories:?Memories and Lore from Waynesboro’s Surrounding Communities. The program is an opportunity to learn about village life and times through the shared reminiscences and memories of residents. All current and former residents of the general area around Blue Ridge Summit are invited to attend. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, Blue Ridge Summit was a thriving summer resort for wealthy visitors from nearby cities like Baltimore and Washington, D.C. It remains a vital and active mountaintop community. Historical roots are deep and many families living there today had ancestors who were involved in the early life of the village.
