Join Renfrew for an immersive historical experience set in the year 1820. Follow the flickering glow of lanterns through the crisp autumn air to the Royer House Kitchen where you’ll be greeted with the warm hospitality of our cheerful hosts dressed in early 19th century attire. Partake in a tasty sweet bread whilst enjoying a cup of hot cider ladled from a kettle upon the hearth as we gather in the finely furnished 1812 dining room. Greet fellow guests and imagine yourself transported back in time to a back country tavern, dimly illuminated by candlelight, and brace yourself to hear Washington Irving’s thrilling tale of the Headless Horseman!
