WAYNESBORO, Pa. — The Waynesboro Area YMCA is inviting the community to celebrate summer with the launch of its new Summer Nights at the Y event series, beginning with the Beat the Heat Kickoff on Wednesday, July 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cookie Beck Memorial Pavilion.
Designed to bring families, friends, and neighbors together, Summer Nights at the Y is a free three-week community event series featuring live entertainment, local food vendors, and activities for all ages.
The opening Beat the Heat Kickoff will feature a DJ and karaoke, a dunk tank, mini golf, outdoor games, sidewalk chalk activities, and food from Chillin' Out Snowballs, and Antietam Dairy.
The July 29 Kickoff is the first of three themed evenings that make up the Summer Nights at the Y series.

Each event is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At the Cookie Beck Memorial Pavilion at the Waynesboro Area YMCA. Admission is free and open to the public.
