EXPLORE! Log Sweet Log
Part of a series of outdoor adventure programs for kids in grades K to 5, presented by Buttonwood Nature Center, home of The Institute. We’ll be getting up close with nature as we explore life on, in, and under logs in the forest. Magnifiers, hands, and our senses can all be used in this exploration of how this “forest trash” is really a forest treasure. Participants will be investigating what makes fallen trees so important to so many forms of life in the forest, including living trees and soon-to-be trees (seeds)! The students will even get a chance to use a microscope to look at things they find on their hike! Fee: $8 member of Buttonwood Nature Center/The Institute; $10 general public. Space is limited; register online at buttonwoodnaturecenter.org.
