DESCRIPTION:CVSM presents Pianists Dr. Maggie Chen (Associate Professor at Ling-Tung University\, Taiwan) and Dr. Yu-Hsuan Liao (Coordinator of Keyboard Studies and Associate Professor at Shepherd University\, Shepherdstown\, WV) join forces to present a diverse and intriguing piano duo concert that includes Carols Guastavino's "Tres Romances Argentinos" for two pianos\; Taiwanese composer Ming-Hsiu Yen's four intelligent and playful Children Games\, called "Toy Kaleidoscope\," includes homages to composers Satie\, Debussy\, Prokofiev\, and Rimsky-Korsakov\; John Adams' monumental work "Hallelujah Junction" for two pianos\; and Nikolai Kapustin's jazzy piece "Sinfonietta."\n\nDrs. Chen and Liao both hold doctoral degrees in piano performance from the University of Texas at Austin and have been performing together professionally since 2014.
